Couples Counseling

Relationships are central to our lives—but they

can also be some of our greatest sources of

stress and confusion.

Is couples counseling right for you?

Couples counseling can support people in all types of intimate relationships, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or living situation. Whether you’re dating, partnered, or married, therapy can help you better understand each other and strengthen your connection.

Many couples come to therapy for challenges such as:

  • Communication issues

  • Repeating conflict cycles that never seem to resolve

  • Emotional disconnection or feeling “stuck”

  • Trust ruptures or ongoing tension

  • Life transitions that are putting stress on the relationship

Others come in wanting to deepen their bond, improve communication, and reconnect emotionally before issues become more painful or persistent.

Many of these challenges are not signs that a relationship is failing—they are often signals that something deeper needs attention, understanding, and care. With the right support, these moments can become opportunities to rebuild connection, increase emotional safety, and grow together in a more intentional way.

Our Approach

We offer couples therapy that is grounded, supportive, and emotionally attuned. Our work is informed by evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps couples understand the deeper emotional patterns that drive conflict and disconnection. We also draw from the Gottman Method, a research-based approach focused on strengthening friendship, improving communication, and helping couples manage conflict in healthier, more constructive ways. Iliana's training in Gottman-informed principles supports practical tools alongside deeper emotional work, so couples can build both insight and skills.

Rather than focusing only on surface-level communication skills, we help partners recognize the deeper cycles they get stuck in—and learn how to move from reactivity and distance toward safety, responsiveness, and connection.

Our goal is not to decide who is “right or wrong,” but to help both partners feel heard, understood, and more securely connected.

Cultural Awareness & Identity

We understand that relationships do not exist in isolation. Culture, family expectations, identity, and lived experiences all shape how we love, communicate, and cope under stress.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we take time to understand the full context of your relationship—so therapy feels relevant, respectful, and aligned with who you are.

Our Style

Our work is:

  • Warm, grounded, and emotionally present

  • Direct, but always compassionate

  • Relational and depth-focused

  • Safe enough for honesty, and real enough for change

We aim to create a space where you don’t have to perform or hold everything together—so real conversations can finally happen.
